Everything that has to do with IT has a promising future. AI is not a sword of Damocles. On the contrary, I am convinced that it will simplify our jobs, not replace them.

I didn't want to be in the passenger seat
"I used Java to programme my own plug-ins. I was 13 or 14 at the time and thought it was great that you could switch from the passenger seat to the driver's seat by programming," he explains.
He trained in computer science at the HTL Pinkafeld and completed his A-levels at the BULME in Graz while working. He is now studying for a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering and Networked Systems at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences - again while working. He works as an Associate Technical Engineer at the Expleo Group on a project for Allianz Insurance. He is mainly involved in system testing and automation. "In my current project, the Allianz Technology Project, we are looking at the software behind customer administration," explains Jan.
He really appreciates the practical relevance of his studies. His work in an international project team complements his studies well.
He highly recommends following up his school education with a degree programme, as a job in IT is very reliable.
