After the binding allocation of a place, University of Applied Sciences Burgenland collects a deposit of € 350 from students to secure their place. This deposit is refunded to active students after the end of the first semester. In all other cases, the deposit is forfeited.

Highlights of this degree programme

  • Double degree: in addition to the academic degree, students acquire the professional qualification for the higher service for health care and nursing
  • High practical component in the degree programme: you will spend more than half of the degree programme on work placement and in practical courses. This gives you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with different care and specialist areas
  • Opportunities to specialise through the elective modules Nursing of Children and Adolescents and Nursing of People with Psychiatric Illnesses
  • Combined expertise through interactive exchange with other degree programmes in the Department of Health
  • Optimal group size of students, which makes it possible to promote individual competences
  • Specialisation possible through further Master's degree programmes

Funding and employment model

With the Nursing Training Purpose Grant Act (PAusbZG), the federal government offers the federal states the opportunity to make training programmes in the nursing sector more attractive in order to attract more people to the nursing profession. People who do not receive benefits from the AMS to secure their livelihood receive a monthly training contribution/subsidy of € 600 as part of their training. The grant is exempt from all federal taxes and social security contributions and does not count as income.
In addition, students have the opportunity to be employed by a Burgenland health care organisation during their studies and thus be fully insured for three years. The gross monthly salary in this case is €600 (14 times a year).
