Practical training in the Bachelor's degree programme in Healthcare and Nursing is a relevant component of the degree programme. In addition to a scientifically sound theoretical education, students also receive high-quality practical training.
Practical training begins in the first semester and comprises 92 ECTS (i.e. more than half of the degree programme). In addition to practical training at internship sites, it also includes pre-internship (skills training) and internship-related (introduction and reflection) courses. Students can choose an internship in the field of their choice.
Practical training in internships takes place in the care and specialist areas of acute care, mobile care, long-term care, the field of prevention and rehabilitation and/or in the public health service, in surgeries and practice communities, in private practice and in other care facilities in Austria and abroad, provided that the cooperation partners required to achieve the training objective are available.
On the basis of cooperation agreements and agreements with internship centres, students have sufficient internship positions at their disposal.
