Michael Stróbl is a Business Architecture Analyst at Accenture, the world's largest IT consulting company.

He is currently studying for a Master's degree in Business Process Engineering & Management at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland.

This degree programme combines all fields of interest that have paved his professional and academic path for years. Michael Stróbl first began a HTL training before taking a full-time job in the emergency services.

He completed his A-levels at night school and briefly considered studying medicine. In the end, however, he opted for the Bachelor's degree programme in International Business Relations at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland.

He gained a foothold at Accenture via the compulsory internship during his studies - initially in SAP Consulting, in the Resources division. "That was exciting. In the long term, however, I wanted to be able to apply my medical expertise to my career." He succeeded. Michael now works in the Health and Public Services sector.

While looking for a Master's degree programme, he became aware of the Master's in Business Process Engineering & Management at University of Applied Sciences Burgenland. He began his studies at the same time as changing jobs. "It was very challenging, but also really ideal. The content of my trainee programme matched the course content. I learnt the theory on campus and was able to apply it straight away in my day-to-day work."

In his job, Michael works for major customers and analyses their systems or individual aspects of them. "I look at their processes and document how they can be transferred to a modern IT architecture, where there is room for improvement and potential for streamlining," he explains. Accenture has around 2,000 employees in Austria and around 732,000 worldwide, serving clients in more than 120 countries.

What does Michael particularly like about his studies?

The degree programme focuses on the fact that everything in life is a process. Creating an understanding of this and then realising this in everyday life is a great insight in itself that you can take away from the study programme.
