This degree programme is the right choice for you if you are interested in business and intercultural communication and want to work in an international environment.

The Austrian economy thrives on exports and relations with other countries. In this context, the connection to Eastern and South-Eastern Europe plays an important role not only for historical but also for economic reasons. The degree programme "International Business Relations" already set this focus more than 25 years ago - with lasting success. In addition to well-founded business knowledge and subject-specific know-how, graduates have valuable communicative and intercultural skills in a specialisation, which open up career opportunities for them in an international context. Graduates work in various sectors and fields of activity in the Austrian and international economy.

The degree programme International Business Relations can be studied full-time or part-time. For the part-time study programme, you already bring several years of work experience to the study programme. Full-time students, on the other hand, have few professional obligations; they gain international experience in summer courses and professional internships in Central and Eastern Europe. Some also complete a semester abroad at a partner university - all within the framework of the curriculum without losing a semester.

"In the working world it is important to also work with people from other cultures. That's why the Bachelor's degree programme in International Business Relations at UAS Burgenland is not only about business and languages, but also about developing intercultural skills."

Tonka Semmler-Matošić, Programme Director

For applicants with certificates from third countries (i.e. all countries except the member states of the EEA/EU and Switzerland) without an EU visa facilitation agreement, the application deadline for the start of studies in September is 15 March of the same year. Personal admission interview

The admission procedure determines the applicant's communication skills and social competence. In addition, the applicant's previous education, professional experience, experience abroad and any foreign language skills are taken into account. During the interview, the applicant's motives for the Bachelor's programme "International Business Relations" are also discussed and any additional qualifications are verified.

During the interview, a "Check your English" test is conducted with all applicants. This is an online English test on the PC about everyday situations and is intended primarily as a self-monitoring tool for the applicant.

Students with a mother tongue other than German must prove their German language skills during the admission process (language level C1 is expected).

Decision on admission
The applicants will be informed about the admission. Applications after the application deadline will be considered in a waiting list.

After the binding allocation of a place, University of Applied Sciences Burgenland collects a deposit of € 350 from students to secure their place. This deposit is refunded to active students after the end of the first semester. If an applicant does not fulfil the admission requirements before the start of the programme (e.g. did not pass the resit of the school-leaving examination, did not pass the additional qualification examination, etc.), the deposit is also refunded.
