Cooperation between HTBLA Eisenstadt and five technical degree programmes at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences

Eisenstadt/Pinkafeld, 12 May 2026 - Representatives of the HTBLA Eisenstadt and the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences recently signed a new and expanded cooperation agreement. It seals the joint efforts to prepare young people for further studies in the best possible way during their school education and to facilitate the transition to university. The focus is on a close professional exchange between the HTBLA Eisenstadt and now a total of five Bachelor's degree programmes at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences. Excursions to the university, workshops at the school and information and counselling services are designed to give pupils an early insight into scientific and practice-oriented topics.

Cooperation includes five Bachelor's degree programmes at the Eisenstadt and Pinkafeld campuses

The existing cooperation agreement with the Bachelor's degree programmes in Applied Electronics and Photonics, Building and Energy Technology, IT Infrastructure Management and Software Engineering and Connected Systems has now been expanded to include the Bachelor's degree programme in Energy and Environmental Management .

The new degree programme enables prospective students at the newly established campus in Pinkafeld to benefit from a practical and interdisciplinary education. The degree programme covers topics such as renewable energy systems, environmental technology and energy and environmental management. The combination of a sound basic education in natural sciences and engineering with courses in law and economics as well as interdisciplinary qualifications focussing on the current challenges of the energy transition and the circular economy creates a solid foundation for future specialists. This will enable them to enter a forward-looking field of work.

"I am very pleased about the expansion of the educational partnership between Burgenland University of Applied Sciences and HTBLA Eisenstadt. The possibility of recognising prior learning for further studies at the university is particularly valuable. This cooperation makes it easier for pupils to start their studies and creates the best conditions for further academic and professional careers," emphasises headmaster Thomas Schober.

Another advantage for high school graduates: The extensive library of the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences with more than 150,000 e-books is available free of charge for academic papers and theses. This makes it even easier to start a degree programme later on.
