This programme is designed for visionary, dedicated future business graduates who would like to learn more than is offered by the traditional business studies curriculum and seek to make a real difference in the world. If you’re interested in sustainable and future-proof business practices and are looking for a degree that is different from other programmes, this Bachelor’s degree programme is the right choice for you.
Degree programme: The duration of the programme is 6 semesters. Graduates receive the academic degree of Bachelor of Arts in Business (BA). The programme offers comprehensive education in business with a focus on sustainability, preparing students for a wide range of exciting positions in renowned companies. Career opportunities for graduates include roles in sustainability reporting and communication, sustainability management, strategic and business consulting, as well as process, project, and risk management.
Who is it for? Whether you’ve just completed your final school-leaving examination, are returning from a gap year abroad, or are seeking a meaningful and distinct business degree with excellent job prospects, this programme is designed to prepare you to support companies in transitioning to sustainable business practices. The curriculum is tailored for those who aspire to pioneer new paths in business and make a significant impact on how companies operate sustainably.
Job friendly: The curriculum is organised on a less-than-full-time basis, with courses held on no more than four days a week, leaving Friday through Sunday free. This schedule allows ample time for part-time jobs or internships, although students can also choose to dedicate their energy entirely to their studies and gain professional experience during the compulsory internship in the sixth semester.
This Bachelor’s Degree Programme in International Sustainable Business is more than just a business degree; it is a commitment to a sustainable future and offers a comprehensive education that equips students with the knowledge, skills and global perspective necessary to lead in the transition to sustainable business practices.

To study for a bachelor's degree at our organisation, you must meet one of the following requirements:
Admission requirements for international degree seeking students from third countries (non-EU)
The University of Applied Sciences Bachelor's Programme International Sustainable Business accepts 25 applicants per year.
Applications received by the University of Applied Sciences Bachelor's Programme International Sustainable Business within a set deadline will be considered in the admission procedure for the coming academic year. Registration takes place via the online registration.
Applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency with their application. The language certificate must have been taken at a recognised institution (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, Oxford), have a level of at least B2 and must not be older than 2 years.
Applicants who do not submit recognised proof of English language proficiency at the time of application must take an English test before the admission interview. Applicants will be informed separately about this English test.
In English-language degree programmes, the application deadline for applicants with visa requirements is 15 March of the corresponding calendar year.
APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR THIRD COUNTRY CITIZENS REQUIRING A VISA TO ENTER AUSTRIA
For applicants with certificates from third countries (i.e. all countries except the member states of the EEA/EU and Switzerland) without EU visa facilitation agreements the application deadline for the study programme starting in September ends on 15 March of the same year. This should give you sufficient time to apply for the required residence permit and/or visa and to obtain any missing documents and certifications.
The prerequisite for participation in the admission procedure is the fulfilment of all admission requirements within the given deadline. On the basis of the documents submitted, a pre-selection takes place which enables participation in the admission interview. In this English-language interview, we want to get to know you and your skills and qualities by talking about your education, additional qualifications and motivation.
For a successful application, sufficient English language skills (at least level B2) must be demonstrated.
We will inform you in writing about the allocation of a place. If we are unable to offer you a fixed place, you will be placed on the waiting list, which will enable you to be moved up if someone ahead of you does not accept the place. We will only consider late applications if there are still places available.
After the binding allocation of a place, University of Applied Sciences Burgenland collects a deposit of € 350 from students to secure their place. This deposit is refunded to active students after the end of the first semester. If an applicant does not fulfil the admission requirements before the start of the programme (e.g. did not pass the resit of the school-leaving examination, did not pass the additional qualification examination, etc.), the deposit is also refunded. In all other cases, the deposit is forfeited.
