Quality and Knowledge Management

Areas of responsibility

Course evaluation is one of the core instruments within the framework of quality assurance in teaching and study operations at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland. We have been using this feedback instrument for years - this is how we have succeeded in building up a culture of evaluation.

The course evaluation is carried out automatically, whereby the following evaluation forms are used within the framework of the course evaluation:

  • Evaluation form for students (at the end of the course)
  • Evaluation form for lecturers (feedback possibility for lecturers to the programme management)
  • Interim evaluation forms (during the course)

The University of Applied Sciences Burgenland is committed to a process-oriented quality management system (PQMS). The aim is to maintain, optimise and continuously update the existing PQMS. The Quality and Knowledge Management Department , Rectorate Directorate structures and documents all relevant processes at University of Applied Sciences Burgenland. In this way, work steps are made transparent, responsibilities of involved organisational units and interfaces are defined and process variants are presented.

QM circles are held at regular intervals with various stakeholder groups:

  • Management forum

  • Participation forum

  • University forum

  • Research forum

  • Staff Forum

  • Study and Course Forum

  • Continuing Education Forum

  • ÖH and Alumni Forum

  • QM Forum Offices

Jour-Fixes in the individual departments ensure the transfer of information to the teaching staff.

The results are written down in a protocol and checked in a structured monitoring process and, if necessary, followed up.

Accreditation

Every degree programme offered at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland is quality-assured and accredited by the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation.
